Abstract

Currently, imaging modalities such as ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and computed tomography (CT) are considered the method of choice for diagnosing non-alcoholic fatty pancreas disease. In addition, imaging-based clinical examination methods such as B-scan ultrasonography, transient elastography, and MRI-proton density fat fraction are the most widely used and have a high diagnostic value. Endoscopic ultrasonography is more accurate than CT and MRI in diagnosing pancreatic steatosis. MRI is a sensitive, non-invasive, and safe inspection method and also the best imaging technique to assess pancreatic steatosis. However, no clear consensus has been reached on diagnostic methodology for pancreatic fat.
